Spinning beam
Spinning flying objects such as American footballs, spinning rockets, and rifled bullets are stabilized against small disturbances by maintaining a large angular momentum vector in a specific direction. Our group is trying to address the following fundamental questions, which have not been systematically investigated thus far:
1. Can charged particle beams under strong space-charge effects in high-intensity linear accelerators (linacs) benefit from spinning?
2. Can injection efficiency for round beam operation of 4GSR be improved by injecting spinning beam?
