RF Simulation in Tokamak Plasmas (Research Report)

NEWS & NOTES /

This research report was written about 20 years ago extending my master thesis. I think the RF heating and current drive in tokamak plasmas have a similar feature to the particle acceleration by RF.

Introduction to Beam Physics (Lecture notes at UNIST)

NEWS & NOTES /

This course introduces the theory and application of charged particle beams. It provides the basic understanding of the charged particle motions under various electromagnetic environments such as magnets, RF cavities, and plasma. Transverse beam optics, acceleration and longitudinal motion, collective description of beam distributions, and interactions between the beam and the EM fields are reviewed within the context of classical physics.

You are welcome to report any errors, typos, and mistakes in the lecture notes to mchung(AT)unist.ac.kr.

If you need pptx versions of the lecture notes, don’t hesitate to contact me.
